CURRICULUM

Alessandro Chiantoni was born in Bergamo (Italy) in 1996. After studying Piano at the G. Donizetti Conservatory in Bergamo, he graduated with full marks in Organ and Organ Composition. He participated, as a pianist, in the complete performance of Beethoven's thirty-two piano sonatas, on behalf of the International Piano Festival of Bergamo and Brescia. As an organist, he was invited, on the occasion of the third edition of the international composition competition "Vittorio Fellegara," to perform the closing concert held in Bergamo at the prestigious “Alfredo Piatti” hall.
 
Since 2020, he has been appointed the titular organist of the Church of Sant’Anna in Bergamo. He is the founder and artistic director of the “Primavera dell’Organo” committee and, from 2023, he was appointed artistic director of the Organ Auditions of the Dominican convent of San Bartolomeo in Bergamo. He regularly performs for festivals, both national and international, dedicating himself to both repertoire and improvisation. Notable performances include Antwerp (Kristus-Konigkerk), London (Westminster Abbey), Bergamo (Cathedral of S. Alessandro Martire, Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, Church of Sant’Anna, Church of San Bartolomeo, Church of San Martino, Sala Piatti, Episcopal Seminary), Merano (Cathedral), Modena, Turin, Pesaro (International Festival “Vespri d’organo a Cristo Re”), Trento (Santa Maria Maggiore), Storo (Renato Lunelli Association), Villasanta (International Organ Festival), Udine (Udine Organ Academy), Iseo (International Organ Festival “Città di Bergamo”), Rome, Conegliano, Padua…
 
As a teacher, he has been invited to give masterclasses at the music academies of Boom and Tessenderlo (Belgium), and he currently teaches organ at the Music High School in Bergamo.
 
In 2021, he was awarded first prize at the “Rotary Club Bergamo Città Alta.” He records for the “M&M Production” label (Widor, Bach, Mendelssohn, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Chiantoni), for “Da Vinci Publishing” (album awarded five stars by music critics - Bach, Mendelssohn, Reger, Liszt), for “Classica dal vivo” (Improvizations), and a further album is being produced for “M&M Production,” entirely dedicated to the music of J. S. Bach.
 
He was recently appointed organist in residence of the "Il cimento armonico" orchestra of Padua, with which he performed in 2024 the Rheimberger concert of Op. 117 n.2 and Respighi's Suite in G for organ and orchestra.
He perfected his skills with renowned international organists, including Jean Guillou, Jean-Baptiste Monnot, Daniel Roth, Ben van Oosten, Olivier Latry, Ludger Lohmann, Sarah Kim, Francesco Finotti, Yanka Hekimova, Simone Vebber, and Frédéric Desenclos. In the art of improvisation, he has received instruction from Stefano Rattini.
 
As a composer he writes works for solo organ, chamber ensembles and dedicates himself to transcription; His interests also lead him to the organ building sector, following, as a designer, the construction of new organs.
